I love this book so much and I’ve gifted it to all the babies in my life who are about to transition to a new home。 The illustrations are beautiful and the animal choice is excellent。 The picture book includes more facts about the animals (and maybe a few extra animals?) than the board book。 New home, transition, home, family, separation anxiety, animal-recognition, animal habitat, love, attachment, loyalty
Julie,
I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 I liked the illustrations in this book。 Very subdued but colorful。 The story was cute too。
Kelly,
Lovely book! I loved the little side information on each of the animals。

I adore the variety of animals in You Are Home with Me。 Sarah Asper-Smith has chosen some wonderful animals to introduce to children。 From the tufted puffin, moose, flying squirrel and hoary marmot to (more widely known animals) like the lynx, grey wolf, and Arctic fox。 There is an unusual animal out there for every child to love and this book might help them choose! Miss Sarah,
An elementary and up book about animals and where they make their homes complete with a brief nonfiction fact。

I felt like the cover was much prettier than the inside illustrations and that made me feel let down for some reason, but it was still cute and I liked that each page had an additional fact in smaller font
Betsey Stahler,
Sweet book about how animal parents make homes for their children。 Also gives some interesting facts about the animals portrayed。
Barbara,
Deep pigments and well defined illustrations greet the young learner in the book, You Are Home with Me by Sara Asper-Smith and Mitchell Watley, a book about animal homes。 The simple text and illustrations lend themselves to in depth discussions about what children hear or read and observe。 This book will spark inquisitiveness about animal habitats for ages 2 - 8。
Deanne Patterson,
Children are naturally curious and this book is a wonderful chance at a bonding experience with them especially after a visit to the zoo when the sights of so many animals are fresh in their minds。Gives children the comfort and reassurance that parents, even animal parents are there for their young and will nurture them。 Brilliantly illustrated for a better understanding of the materials you and your child or grandchild will read this one time and again。Published November 12th 2019 by Little Big Children are naturally curious and this book is a wonderful chance at a bonding experience with them especially after a visit to the zoo when the sights of so many animals are fresh in their minds。Gives children the comfort and reassurance that parents, even animal parents are there for their young and will nurture them。 Brilliantly illustrated for a better understanding of the materials you and your child or grandchild will read this one time and again。Published November 12th 2019 by Little BigfootI was given a complimentary copy of this book。 Thank you。All opinions expressed are my own。 。。。more

A wonderful book for a young child。 The illustrations are so pretty。 This book introduces the child to animals and how their parents care for them。 The writting for each animal is easy for a child to understand and keeps their attention。 My neice really loved looking at the art work while it was being read to her。 A definite keeper。
Deena,
Such a sweet story! Great illustrations that are very realistic, and the choice of animal families is unique and informative。 I loved the little fun facts about every animal featured, and I learned several things I hadn’t known before!

What a sweet book。 This is perfect for children of all ages—especially those who are interested in the animal world。 The artwork is beautiful。 I feel like this kind of illustration is seldom seen today。 It reminds me of a personal favorite: Sheila McGraw (and Robert Munsch’s) I Love You Forever。 This book strikes me as an instant classic。 And I love the animals included!

I like the concept of this book but I don't think it was carried out very well。 The author jumped right into the animal piece without giving any context to the idea of the story and it felt disjointed。 I think this could be a cute book that children would enjoy with a little more finesse。 I like the concept of this book but I don't think it was carried out very well。 The author jumped right into the animal piece without giving any context to the idea of the story and it felt disjointed。 I think this could be a cute book that children would enjoy with a little more finesse。 。。。more

This is the perfect book for younger, pre-school aged children。 It uses their innate security of a mother to teach them about animals and how they live together。 The book is a fantastic teaching tool for different animals and their habits。 I would purchase it for the young children in my life。

Let me start off by saying I put stars beside this title with a little "must buy" note beside it because it's that wonderful。 This work blends fact and story seamlessly so that one never detracts from the other。 Asper-Smith has kept the facts about the animals in a smaller font so if you wanted to use this book for story time, you can and just focus on the tale itself。 Further, the illustrations are gorgeous and parents will love sharing this wonderful tale with their children。 "You Are Home wit Let me start off by saying I put stars beside this title with a little "must buy" note beside it because it's that wonderful。 This work blends fact and story seamlessly so that one never detracts from the other。 Asper-Smith has kept the facts about the animals in a smaller font so if you wanted to use this book for story time, you can and just focus on the tale itself。 Further, the illustrations are gorgeous and parents will love sharing this wonderful tale with their children。 "You Are Home with Me" is a touching book that brilliantly conveys the message of love, family and the strong ties that keep us together。 This is definitely a "must buy" for all libraries and a "must read" for families。 。。。more
